Privacy Policy,
Allegedly

This document explains what happens to information you hand us while visiting The Promenade. “Explains” may be doing more work than our legal department, which is currently a chair with a note on it.

What wanders in

We may receive account details, character descriptions, messages, generated images, gameplay choices, and the ordinary technical records produced when a browser asks a server for something. Some of this is necessary. Some of it is a twelve-paragraph backstory about a haunted spoon. We store both with roughly the same expression.

What we do with it

We use information to run the game, remember your character, generate things you requested, prevent obvious abuse, and determine why the machinery has begun making that noise again. We do not have a secret plan for your data. At present, our public plans are already more than we can supervise.

Who else may see it

The service relies on hosting, authentication, analytics, storage, and generative-AI providers. Relevant information may pass through those services so they can perform the task assigned to them. We attempt to choose reputable vendors. They have logos, documentation, and in several cases extremely reassuring gradients.

Retention, deletion, and other confident nouns

Records remain for as long as they are useful to operate the game, meet obligations, or reconstruct whichever incident everyone is denying. You may ask about your data or request deletion. We will then locate the correct lever and pull it with appropriate ceremony. Backups and legal requirements may delay the final disappearance.

Notice concerning certainty This policy was written by people building an experimental game, not robed privacy oracles. We take reasonable care, revise our practices when we learn better, and make no claim that understanding a database has made us masters of fate.

Questions may be filed. Answers remain an aspirational feature.
